Step Dance Classes

THURSDAYS:
Diablo Light Opera
1948 Oak Park Boulevard
Pleasant Hill, CA 94523
 
Beginning Step Dance: 6:15-7:15pm
  • Learn basic step dancing technique and several step dances
  • Recommended: Approximately one year of dance experience in Scottish Country Dancing or a related area, such as Highland, ballet, Irish dance, etc.

Beginner/Intermediate 7:15-7:30

  • Continuation of Beginners' Class for those seeking further exploration of intermediate level dances

Advanced Step Dance: Thursday, October 14, 2004, 7:30-8:30pm

  • Learn intermediate and advanced step dancing technique and even more step dances!
  • For dancers with knowledge of basic step dancing techniques or approximately one year of Scottish Step Dancing.

New World Scottish Dancers Performance Group (Step Dancers):

  • Meets Thursdays 8:30-10:00pm as needed
  • Performance opportunities include Scottish Games and other venues
  • Although membership in the NWSD is invitational, anyone interested can contact Lori Howard, the director of the company, or any member of the NWSD for information

 

Country Dance Classes

TUESDAYS:
Crockett Community Center
850 Pomona Street
Crockett, CA 94525

Beginners: 6:30-7:30

  • Introduction to Scottish Country Dancing
  • Learn basic steps and formations
  • Learn dances

Intermediate/Advanced 7:30-9:00

  • Open to all experienced dancers
  • Focus on technique and advanced dances

New World Scottish Dancers Performance Group (Country Dancers):

  • Meets Tuesdays 9:00-10:00pm as needed
  • Performance opportunities include Scottish Games and other venues
  • Although membership in the NWSD is invitational, anyone interested can contact Lori Howard, the director of the company, or any member of the NWSD for information
